I live in a small town in northeast Alabama with my husband, our cats, and our dog. I have no intentions of leaving. My husband, Cody, and I met during high school and were married on January 2nd, 2010. Our firstborn son is due to arrive on September 10, 2013.
I received my bachelor’s degree in English at the age of twenty. I have a passion for reading and credit the majority of my knowledge not to my formal education but to my insatiable appetite for books. I am interested not only in reading and writing, as my undergraduate degree suggests, but also in history and all the political, religious, cultural, and geographic subtopics that field encompasses. Within my studies of literature, I focused primarily on medieval and eighteenth century British texts. My original plan was to teach high school English. After I finished my English degree, I spent almost two years working on my master’s degree in Secondary Education and English Language Arts. A semester before graduating and after much soul searching, I decided to put aside that plan and re-evaluate what I wanted to do with my life. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work from home as a freelance writer. I antificipate to graduate with my master’s degree in English literature in August 2013. My vast array of interests include traveling, gardening, cooking, baking, various crafts, homemaking, and almost any outdoor activity.
Cody chose not to pursues a college education, a decision which afforded us the opportunity to marry at an arguably young age and for him to support me as I completed, and continue to complete, my education. He works at a local warehousing company, a job he has worked at in some capacity since he was fifteen. Cody is the most laidback man I have ever met, an excellent quality for husbands. Cody and I share an interest in traveling and gardening. I love him dearly!
